 This movie shows the story of a 13 year old girl who gets her dream present on a Sunday afternoon. 






Alanna (Anna Popplewell) has always  dreamed about having a dog, but her mother and father ( Merryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, respectively) are against it because of the mess and the responsibilities that having a living creature entails. Then, on a random Sunday, a family friend Johanna (Courtney Cox) arrives with a dog hidden in her purse. Alanna, immediately, falls in love with the dog, but a puppy in an apartment means trouble, and her mother tries to convince her dad to keep it. Finally, the father accepts him in the family, and her mother names the dog Shamed, which means God of Sun in aramic language. Shamed grows up and becomes a loyal but playful dog who eats a lot of shoes and makes tons of disasters in the house. Four years later, Alanna faces a lifetime decision: having to choose her future career. Knowing that the love between she and Shamed is true, Alanna decides to become a veterinarian beginning one of the best experience of her life, in college, always with her dog by her side.
